I have built three of these, gave them all away and never flew one...

Here is a few documents I made, some circuit diagrams, PCB layout and a basic instruction (very helpful for the 'not too smart' like me).

I'll add some photos when I can find them.

Now, when is the OLED version going to be ready??

Frank asked for the 3D-printed case files. All the "parts" are in the same file - Around line 83 you see lines like:

front();
// back();
// rfTube();
// rfBackplate();

So to get the front you just leave as is and render in OpenSCAD then export STL file. To get the back comment out the front(); line and uncomment the back(); one - repeat as necessary to get the parts you want.

The prototype was designed to fit a Futaba-style Tx module, and use one of the small two-axis 'toy' joysticks you can get on Ebay. You're probably using a different RF module and maybe building an encoder version, so you'll want to modify the OpenSCAD design to suit anyway. Please ask here if you're not familiar with OpenSCAD, and I can help. OpenSCAD is free so even if you don't want to learn to use it, it's worth installing just so you can look at the design and produce .STL files.

I did build one but I havent been flying since Ponty last year, so mine is unflown. Actually its not even cased as yet, but I do have a really nice blue powder-coated ali box as recommended by Ron, its the same case as my Orange Flysky S/C tx, but a different colour. I did a neat PCB for it which holds the Nano, rotary switch, buzzer, display etc without any external wiring:

I already have two of them, both are flown very often, the model memories are almost filled.
One is on 2.4G only, the older one is more versatile with 2.4G and 35MHz.
Both are working very well. Never did have any issues. Thanks for a great project, Martin. Frank

Yes it can and I'll do it when I also add the driver for the Sharp Memory Display (see below) - but I now advise against the OLED displays for transmitters. They look lovely indoors, and are usable outdoors under heavy overcast conditions - but when the weather is nice for flying they are virtually unreadable. Yesterday I was flying using my Reedy 10 transmitter (with OLED) and the display might just as well have been turned off - I couldn't see it at all. Mike was flying his Reedy 10, which has a non-backlit LCD and his screen was nice and clear.

At the moment I'm assessing and writing drivers for the "Sharp Memory Display" which looks much better for transmitter use to me than an OLED. The only drawback at the moment is the rather high price - £27.

I intend to support this display both for the Reedy 10 and my single channel set. Let's hope the price reduces somewhat.
