Gem “Signature Edition”

Just paying around building a special edition GEM S/C set.
It’s basically the same but using different colours.
A 2 way module is fitted for more versatility.
I have designed and fitted a unique “Signature Edition” decal supporting “Made in Yorkshire”

Hi Paul
Next time I unscrew the back I’ll take a picture but there’s not a lot to see as I cover the module and exposed parts of the toggle and tone switch with black card, which I hot glue on. The only thing I don’t cover is Phil’s encoder as I like to be able to replace the pic if needed (update etc).

Scott,
The decal is simple but very effective.
I design the logo in affinity designer (Mac), then print it on ordinary glossy photo paper on the highest resolution possible. Take some 1mm white plasticard and using double sided tape stick the decal onto it. Cut around with a new scalpel for the final shape and sand the edges gently. Once happy I use a cellulose gloss clear lacquer and give it a very very light coat from a distance just to seal the print. Wait 24 hours and give it another coat but not quite as light as the first. Was another 24 hours and give it its final very very light coat again. This gives it a slightly rough feeling which maybe you can see in the photo. Oh by the way be very careful making the holes, I drill a 3mm hole and then gently use a tapered reamer.

Ron.

Thanks to Neil for making me up some laser cut cardboard boxes with thumb cutout. Superb job.
I’ve just finished the printing so both transmitters now match

They look great together with their boxes Ron.

I've lost track of all your wonderful repro transmitters. Any chance of putting them together in a single thread for us all to admire? You must have quite a collection of them by now.
