An early CitizenShip 5 channel analogue TX converted to 2.4ghz

Post by ozrs »

Some pics of my converted CitizenShip set. Most were posted on previous forum, but original description has been lost - so just some brief comments (from memory).
original internals:

case cleaned, holes drilled for bind board and switches. Ready for conversion:

Phil's encoder mounted:

converted internals - original pcb cut down and used to brace stick units, Fsky module used:

The originals sticks were fairly agricultural:

however better sticks were available as aftermarket upgrades for the CitizenShip sets at the time - I found some OS sticks that were similar to the upgrades and cut a thread on these to fit the gimbals:

top view showing the bind board and additional toggles for on/off functions using 'period' switches (the set is now the full 7 channels):

Finished TX - note the single channel button on the top right. This is a micro switch with a great 'feel' that I have been saving for a project like this.

Again, I need to thank Phil for his great encoder!

Awesome job! I have been on the lookout for one of those or the anodized EK to convert. That red anodized is just beautiful :)
