Futaba M Rx battery question

...old Futaba will only take 4 NiMh, nominal 4,8v! Some of the newer would go with 5 NiMh, nominal 6,0v!
A 2s LiPo will release the blue smoke so you need a ESC with a maximum of 5.2v output.

Or a low drop-out 5v regulator on 2s if not using in an electric model.??

From the picture, the battery/switch plug (red) is 3 wire, which could indicate a centre tapped rx battery. If so, it changes things

This Futaba Rx is a 3 wire Rx so there is no 2.4v center tap as used in the old 4 wire systems, and Futaba had a different plug/connector for that.

Totally agree.
And if it does not burn it ( because perhaps it is not fully charged) then it will become very sensitive - you will see the servos tremble and any chanel adjacent wil interfere - and those are not narrow band).
Strongly recommend a 4s nimh ( btw if you have not changed already your tx bat , change them to.

But remember these where not narrow banded so you must be well spaced from another fellow in same band and vise versa .
