Mode Zero

Hi all.

Having a devil of a job getting my 7ch+sc button setup working...
OK here goes.
Set up on bench at the moment. OS Cougar stick units, 'Red' board with Phil's modifications, Arduino Nano, FrSky DHT transmitter hack module, FrSky V8FR2 receiver.
All wired in as per instructions apart from nothing plugged into ch7 toggle, throttle lock switch, elevon mixer, v tail mixer. or aux 1 or 2.
Nothing happening when I'm wiggling the sticks. If I press the S/C button I get random movement on a servo on seemingly any channel.
Tried binding again, seems to work...tried calibration, no difference noted.
What the dickens am I doing wrong?

...you could try calibrating with a link (or a Spekky bind plug)

PS aux 1&2 ought to be wired even if not used
PPS Save the break button for a DigiSpark encoder

Ah, it was indeed a push to break! D'oh! Serve me right for appropriating switches from work lol. I also had it wired with positive and signal, rather than negative and signal. Sigh...
All because I failed to RTFM sufficiently.

The fact that I got this far with this project is testament to Phil's skill with his write-up of this. I have no clue what I'm doing, and even less clue of how the original gear worked, but I managed to get a bunch of servos working from a couple of 1970's sticks, using technology that was sci-fi when the original radio was designed.
Using info from the net I have got a vintage Tx, removed the gubbins, replaced it with a blank chip, programmed it using cut and paste, wired it to some switches and other bits and bobs, and made it do an actual job that is way more advanced than the original radio was capable of.
