Paper Plans Pour Perfect Pixies :D

Just had an email back from my mate Derick who sells plans on fleabay - cost to us on MZ is £5.00 inc p&p within the UK.

Plan is A1 sized and on high quality paper.

Address is ...

modelplans@flyer21.plus.com

Use that for PayPal payment too - just mention in the message what it's for.

Once the design/name is finalised, I'll send him the updated PDF - probably best to wait until then.

Cheers

Done, just added a 'Mode Zero Goblin' plan topic in Documents - don't know if it's sticky though. No doubt there will be more changes anyway - as well as the name :D

Link here -download/file.php?id=2150

Seems to work fine.

Cheers

Please can we have a scale on the plan somewhere?
I always need to check on my Epson'n'Sellotape printing that I am actually getting the plan at full scale ie 10 cm on plan is actually 10 cm on my print out

I don't have access to a SC friendly slope within a reasonable distance, I do have half a dozen Cox 049s, and, EP systems to mount on a removable power pod. What angle up thrust would I need to power a rudder only MZ Goblin?

From memory, it's around 30 deg either tractor or pusher.
You could always start at 90 deg and work your way down until you get horizontal flight.

Version bv1.04 just uploaded - some minor errors fixed and scales added.

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=429

I'll leave it for a couple or more days and if there are no more changes, we can nail it at that.

Other than the contentious name of course

I just checked my Bixler 3 (it's a pusher) approx 30deg downthrust - same for tractor except upthrust.
I feel there may be a great aeronautical argument blowing here
However, having tried a google search for interest, I can see tractor pods having thrustlines from about -1 to 35 deg !!
I have an old Graupner Cirrus power pod in the attic somewhere and it is around 20 to 30deg.
Be careful when looking on google, a lot of the pods have flat bases and were designed to be banded on to the rear portion of the wing section, so depending on the aerofoil, it will give differing angles of upthrust.
Perhaps an empirical approach starting at 10 deg would be good - probably best with a switchable e.power first :D

I’ve always just set them to the datum line, zero degrees, never had any problems with impala, soarcerer, little V. It only uses the power to climb up to altitude then glide down anyway.
