I can get me boat within a mile or so of the beacon Shaun, If you give us a lift up the hill, you can stay on board with us :)

Hi Gary

Will you have your car with you or would you like a lift from the canal at Pitstone (the nearest point to the Beacon), because it's one hell of a walk. I did it before Christmas with the dogs and it was a 45 minute walk each way.

Mike
Hi Gary,

That's very kind but in-between me asking and you offering, I've got sorted out.
It will be brilliant if you can make it there. Aquatic mobile homes.. they're the future...👍

Mike,

I doubt I'll have a car, I plan on going to the 'flying aces' comp in Peterborough at the end of August so a nice cruise down to Pitstone would only take around 10 days or so then we'll accept any help we can get thanks.

Spotted this last night. For those for whom Ivinghoe is a trip too far South, Leek & Moorlands are having a similar event on May 18th:

Hello All,

It's gone a bit quiet - is all still going ahead? forecast looks possible if a little light (8 mph westerly)

Don't suppose any kind soul could give me a lift from tring / cheddington station? (6 mins by car on google maps - but 1hr 18 by foot!)

I flew my Zietgeist last week - first time in 43 years... bit of attic rash but nothing Lidl tape couldn't patch. Not sure if I could get it there but might go for a high speed depron clone 2/3 size

I will be coming with other half and granddaughter who will use the opportunity to do some serious dog walking. Although I am a "Southerner", I have never been to Ivinghoe so can anyone tell me where the car park is with respect to the slopes. At this stage the forecast is for a sunny day with very light (5Kts) Easterlies. So is the car park at the top or the bottom and how far is it to the slopes..... I have to ask because it could make a difference to our catering arrangements and how much extra I have to cram into my rucksack in addition to two trannies, and a tool kit!
