Re: Banggood is selling an alternative to Lidl gliders
I think it's a bit bigger than the Lidl one. From the pictures, it looks more streamlined - the trailing edges seem to be thinner.
I suppose it might be weaker though - and the wing is in two pieces, probably for easier shipping.
I've ordered a couple to see how they compare.

That's sold over here as the Bolt glider, it's distributed by century and you can get them either on line or I bought mine from my local model shop and converted it to 2 channel elevator and ailerons.

Re: Banggood is selling an alternative to Lidl gliders
My Banggood foamies turned up today. Unfortunately, the postal service(s) had played football with the package (4 smaller boxes all taped together)
All in all, the glider - the Cheetah - is a pleasant shape and should make a great R/C conversion, for much fun (with the grandkids, of course )
I'll post details of the conversion(s) as/when they happen.............
Fortunately, 3 of them are OK, but the 4th will need time in the panel beaters to be returned to it's original shape
Considering the minimalist packaging, the damage could have been far worse . I'll try warming the "bent" parts before re-straightening, holding them in place until they cool. I just hope they don't return to their Quasimodo shape next summer The fin & fuse will also get 2mm carbon rod stiffeners to keep them in shape. All in all, the glider - the Cheetah - is a pleasant shape and should make a great R/C conversion, for much fun (with the grandkids, of course )

Hi Wayne
Maybe if you leave them out, they may return to their natural shape, I have a feeling they have a sort of memory

Re: Banggood is selling an alternative to Lidl gliders
I checked my Banggood order last night as the gliders still haven't arrived. I'd ordered and paid for them on 2nd July but the order was still showing as 'processing'.
I fired off an email to Banggood asking why? The items were in stock when I ordered them, and still showing as 'in stock' last night.
Then I received the normal, generated by computer, 'your items have now been despatched' email - no explanation or apology for the three-week delay. So it seems that Banggood just sat on my order for three weeks, waited for me to send a reminder, and only then started to do anything about it. They haven't acknowledged that it took me chasing them to get things moving.

I've had a few orders do a similar thing. Items shown in stock and then a couple of weeks later an email saying the items are out of stock and giving me the option to cancel. I guess stock levels are not real time. Last couple of orders I've had no problem. Items dispatched within a day or two.

Had the same happen here.Martin wrote: ↑24 Jul 2019, 09:31 I checked my Banggood order last night as the gliders still haven't arrived. I'd ordered and paid for them on 2nd July but the order was still showing as 'processing'.

Turns out there is a slight "trap" in the wording.
Next to "in stock" one will see a certain time quoted for "processing" before shipment is initiated.
This time is mostly 24 hours but can be, as was in the case of the glider, 10 days.
My guess is they are distributed from a far off stockist.
I found out by getting on their chat line and (sort of) talking direct, allbeit chinglish.
Usually this chat line is for pre-orders but I just jump in and when they answer I quote the order number.....worked every time so far ( maybe 6 times in the past)

Re: Banggood is selling an alternative to Lidl gliders
I ordered 3 & received them this week.
All 3 have badly warped wings. The TE is ok but the LE is badly bowed & looks like poor moldings rather than damaged in transit.
When I have some time I'll see if I can straighten them & do a twisty wing setup.
