Yes, I'm just waiting for the latest transfer machine to become available! Before I retired, one of my old modelling chums had a home-made telecine machine for transferring film to video. Much better quality than pointing a camera at the screen!

Nowadays, you can buy one:

but they've recently come out with a new one that takes bigger reels and encodes at higher quality. I need the bigger reel capability (or else I've got to remember how to edit film!) and would like the enhanced encoding options, but so far they are only available stateside - and they've sold out already!

Maybe they'll become available in the UK later this year.....

Depends on what engine it has in.
