Blunderbird

Post by pulserudder »

I miss scanning through the Blunderbird thread from the old forum. Quite entertaining as I recall.

On the off chance I might build one to use up some rather dense balsa, what's a good brushless motor for power?

I seem to remember Ron had it right on his. He won the pylon race.....

Main thing is don't be tempted to over power it on rudder only.. You won't enjoy flying it....

Sorry just seen this post.
I was using around 50watts that’s all and even that was slightly too much.

Mine is flying great on 35 watts using a rubber escapement. It can even ROG from a paved runway withou any problems. 2s lipo also.

If there's enough interest on the day, we will have the Blunderbird race again. I'll take the inflatable twins along, ( the pylons if you are wondering)
