Ade, not sure what you mean by "throttle setting" but here's my setup:

AUW = 80g = 2.8 oz (includes lipo)

Hobbyking HK1612-KV3200 - this is a 7.4V motor but I run it of 3.7v
4x2.5 prop
This gives me 6W power

I find that for launches, especially if it's breezy, to use full power and as soon as I've launched then back the power of a little depending on the rate of climb and strength of breeze.

I'm contemplating adding some weight in the cabin and going up to 2S, which will require me to change the esc. I've read somewhere someone doing this sort of thing which helped the model penetrate into the breeze better.

I'm no expert on these things but I guess if you aim for a 2S setup you'll have a wider range of power or "throttle setting" to play with. I'm sure someone on the forum could provide additional insight.

Thanks for the reply Carl, the information you have supplied will help.

Reading my question back I can see why I might have caused confusion I have not explained myself clearly enough. I was coming more from the angle of using a three position SC unit having OFF/Half/Full on the throttle, and was wondering what you had experienced on your throttle usage and what I should aim for on my TX as the half setting.

I think in the end though it will all depend on each individual set up depending on motor/battery used. Your information has been very helpful none the less as it gives a starting point.

I hope no one was holding their breath whilst I finished it.

I will bring it to Ponty where it will hopefully maiden and then see how long it will last in my hands.

Nice simple finish there Ade. Hope you enjoy flying it at Ponty - apparently calm conditions are expected.

But of course, I don't want it falling apart before I crash it.

You just need a lolly stick touching the prop now for the sound effects. :D
