Maiden flight of the Sharkface 1.5x

Post by RON »

So looking out the window this evening there wasn't a breath of wind but it was quite foggy, I decided to give the new sharkface its maiden voyage.
Our Oliver went with me to the club field, no one else was there, perfect for a maiden.
I set the throttle to 50% and give it my usual chuck, its exactly like the original one but smoother in flight.
I managed to get 50 seconds worth of video using my phone, that is not as easy as it looks when your concentrating on flying, opening the phone and putting the password key lock in etc. sorry about the quality, it was only on low res but at least it proves it flys.
Landing was a doddle as usual, lovely flyer.
Very pleased with the results
PS I love our Olivers remarks, Dad your landing it in the wrong place :D
Not bad for rudder only on the button. TX was Pathfinder

Cheers Paul
Yes very happy with it. Half throttle is enough though.
Never tried full.
Just had the one flight as it was quite foggy and you could see it disappear every now and then lol

What size motor/prop/battery have you used?

Hi Paul
Motor is an overlander T2826 140w. 3s 1300ma. Prop is an APC thin electric 8x4

All of it was just a guess to be honest and all from the scrap box apart from a new 20a controller which I purchased. Seems to be a good combination though

I'm not surprised you only needed half throttle, 140W seems quite a lot........ what does it weigh?

Well done Ron, at least your landings are in the same postcode, unlike mine!!
