Midwest 'Sniffer'

Post by belli »

Hello All,

For your building pleasure I present my Midwest Sniffer. I have included the .dxf file for those that want to cut their own, I haven't cut one yet so there may be mistakes (maybe Uncle Ian can cut for those in the UK?). I haven't fleshed the plan out with all the detailing, too time consuming. I've extended the nose by an inch, while the short stubby nose is what drew me to this design, regrettably it was for an engine that weighed a ton.
Still, she looks OK.

Bellisimo!

I've done a Sniffer on rudder only, first flight, climb out was beautiful, first press of the button, instant roll to inverted and dived into the ground, it didn't matter how little rudder was used it rolled, the remedy was to flatten the dihedral in the centre of the wing then she turned perfectly, I even managed to get it to barrel roll and land back at my feet after the mod.
Cheers,

Dave
