Re: Tobe's nRF2401+ Rx
Ver. 2:0
This updated encoder is slightly smaller than the first one and has a few more features.
Channel 1 to 4 has trim pots to set trim value if electrical trims are used.
Rates and expo pots have the option of external pots.
They are now up for testing after which I will have available a few sets of 1 Tx-encoder &nRF2401+ module and 2 Rx & nRF2401+module, for more info PM please. More info to come
As code I have the option of GG with progressive throttle, 4 or 6 channels systems and the option to have 2 unique ID's that could be selected at start up of the Tx with a jumper or toggle switch. All codes are based on Phil_G's amazing lockdown project with just few changes to better fit the my boards
Cheers

Looks great. Can you get them assembled by the Chinese PCB manufacturers, or do you have to do it yourself?

Jlcpcb.com does most of the enchilada except pin headers and in this case the trim pots as they were out of them, this board is a 4 layers. The turnaround is about 10 days from my order till the DHL man knock om my door. I do all my designs in KiCad.

Re: Tobe's nRF2401+ Rx
Nice. I use Kicad, with its free auto-router add on, and JLCPCB too. I did these Arduino Mega RAM expansion boards that way, but I had to solder them myself (using the hot-plate method) because JLCPCB didn't stock the chips used.
I've never done a 4-layer board though - only 2-layer ones, so far. I might try a 4-layer for my next project, as it would simplify the routing, and allow the board to be smaller.

My degree and daily "Bread & Butter" is in mechanical engineering but with this tools and a lot of question asked I was able to learn and appreciate this area of disciplin too. I try to base my boards around available stock and if something is to be added I just do it but unfortunately for the time being there is a severe shortage of components.

Re: Tobe's nRF2401+ Rx
Follow up with the MiniPelle....
I didn't had any intention to make a full house MniPelle as it's quite time consuming and my hands are not as they used to be but a dear friend succeded to convince me to make a one of a kind for him with basically carte blanche! ...my little grey cell just spinned off!
Here follows a few pictures and from this one you might guess that there are some time left before I will be flying again...the ice on the lake is not thick enough yet! To be able to shrink the size I have come up with a new version of my encoder not least by using smaller pots. This encoder has all the features as its big brothers including pots to set the electrical trim to desired throws. The 2 bottom pots are for rate and expo but there is the option to connect external pots.
The board has a connction for PPM if a regular RF module is used i.e. Lemon instead of a nRF24L01 piggy back.
The pin heather D1-D8 offer s all the regular options either with a jumper or an external push button or toggle switch. You can get an idea of the size of the Tx by realizing it's sitting in the palm of my hand, 120mm x 140mm x 50 mm - 4" 3/4 x 5" 3/4 x 2"
