REPLACEMENT OF BIAS BATTERY ON MULIPLEX 3030
Posted: 06 Nov 2021, 03:37
I received a multiplex 3030 for a very good price and before upgrading it to 2.4 Ghz , would like to replace the on board bias battery.
I believe the new battery needs to be installed in parallel before removing the existing one, to avoid a break in supply to the computer chip.
the existing battery is a MnO2- lithium - Sanyo CR2500(? number obscured) which has a bracket spot welded to the positive face, and with the connection to the -ve side of the case obscured.
I have read that soldering to these batteries is not good practice and I'm curious about the negative contact.
Has anyone here had any experience doing this?
Thanks
John
