DIY-more PCB with 16U2 usb

Post by FBMinis »

Thank you very much Phil. Hard to keep track of all the variations. Most recently i came across one with the Atmega16U2 as programmer instead of the CH340G. It seems the 16U2 can be flashed with a different firmware, maybe that can be used in our advantage...

Forgot to add the link to my previous post. This board is very similar to the one Stewart posted but it seems to have a different programmer chip:

Well, I finally got two of these for 2.5 euro each through auctions. I wasn't in a hurry so I tried my luck a couple of times instead of "buy it now". I used Zadig to install the USB-Serial driver and upload the Blink Sketch. The power and onboard green LEDs are so bright, I had to cover them with tape (in a bright room, even)
I will have to read more on the 16U2 chip...

As far as I understand, this library might be useful to turn these dev board into HIDs. I wonder if it's possible to connect the PPM output of our encoders to our laptops and play some Picasim or RC Desktop Pilot.
