Hi Jonathan, I'm only answering as no-one else has - I dont know the answer!
But I would expect it to be 455, I recall the only ones who used 470 were Macgregor
in the very early days.

It doesnt matter though. You can either raise or lower the tx freq to suit, or simply retune the IF,
those Tokos will tune 440 - 480 ish. Tuning IFs is best done on a speccy analyser, as peak-tuning
can restrict the bandwidth too much, they need slight stagger tuning to give a nice square
response rather than a sinusoidal peak.

If you tune your ham tx through 450-470, transmitting an AM audio tone at low power, the rx will
pick it up directly into the IF and you should hear the reeds singing with different tones.
You'll then know what the IF is currently, from your ham tx freq minus the rx freq.

Cheers
Phil

What a brilliant answer thank you Phil - my internal reeds were resonating with understanding. I have a strong suspicion it’s 470khz Split as I think I have traced the original crystal in a box of spares . Will check it out as you suggest and see!
