Don't forget it's only just under 6 weeks to Ponty.
The Mystery model details will be released on Tuesday 1st May and a part kit will be made available for an even quicker build.
To get things started you will need:-
* A Cox 020 sized motor (preferably a TD but a Pee Wee will do) or similar sized glow or diesel. Beam mounting will require a slight mod to the design.
* For electric something like an 1811 - 2900kv on 2 - 3s 300 - 450 mAh . I used a 3x3x4 bladed prop on mine
* One 5 - 9g servo
This model can easily be built in a day taking it at a very leisurely pace.
It will be featured in the next RCM&E available in a couple of weeks and includes the plan but I will give a link to the plan on Tuesday here.
No other rules; you have complete flexibility how you make yours as long as it is built in the spirit of the original.. You can even uses Depron if you want (but then you'll have to live with the guilt of not using balsa )
Cheers,
Shaun

The model is the Pulstar, by Vic Smeed.
Neil at i-Gull has made as short kit for us.
The plan is available from Outerzone or if you get RCM&E it will be in the next issue in about a weeks time.
Join in the fun and build one. It really goes together quickly.
Tobe has suggested a prize for the best model and you don't have to build exactly as the plan. Put your own spin on the design.looking forward to a swarm of them at Ponte.
Cheers,
Shaun.

Everything is in the spirit to have fun and a good time. Shared fun is double fun. It will be your choice if, to keep your building a mystery up to Ponte or share/post your progress here from day one.
....and yes, there will be a prize. To be fair, well knowing that not all of you will be able to make Ponte there will be 2 prizes, one for the most original that flies at Ponte and one for those just shown here on the forum with, if possible a YouTube clip.

Re: 7th Ponty Fly In - Mystery Model
It looks like a good fun model but I am having trouble printing it to actual size....... What should the wingspan be? Does it have to be "actual size" or could it be scaled up a bit? (I have an idea! )

Scale away Paul, but it should print out fine. That's what I did. Each wing panel is 13 1/4" .
And don't forget Neil's short kit to speed you on your way.
Cheers,
Shaun.

Hi All
Link for the Pulstar part kit is here ...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292539506122
Fuselage is a box rather than a solid sheet - that way you can make it as wide as you like for servo/rx/batt.
Particularly liked Shaun's version with the red tissue - really neat - especially with the motor mount.
Cheers

Thanks for the link Neil.
The top very red tissued model is Tobe's.. he modified the motor mount so he could use a larger prop.
