I must have missed that one Shaun, where was it listed?

Not that I need another, as I've got a boxed "Fly with Charlie" set that included a CG Venus in nice condition. The box was tatty, but I followed you advice and tried repairing it with cockpit canopy glue and it worked a treat.

Cheers

If it gets to more than I think it's worth to me , I'll let you know...
Canopy glue does work extremely well on old cardboard ..I found out by accident.

Hi Phil

I vaguely know the seller of the Horizon 2 channel, I've bought bits from him in the past and had quite a few chats (he's another Phil). Very nice chap who does model clearances as a sideline. So it's quite possible that it was one you gave away, then that person has stopped modelling for whatever reason (unfortunately it's often because people pass away) and their collection is being sold off.

If you want I can give him a call to see where he got it, or I could pass on his number, it has been in RCM&E classifieds at times, so is in the public domain.

Cheers

Hi Paul

I don't know if modern developments or bye laws have stopped it, but as a teenager I regularly flew slope soarers at sites like Corton (north of Pleasurewood Hills) and Kessingland both near Lowestoft. They were/are not brilliant sites, but with a good easterly wind, both worked well enough. At the time I lived on the Norfolk/Suffolk border so could also fly off the North Norfolk sea cliffs, so there were a few options even living in the lowest counties in the UK.

In fact most of the Suffolk coast has cliffs or at least a decent sized sea wall which often work surprisingly well. A few years ago I was working at Bawdsey for a week and had my Alula with me and most days I had a good half hour flying with only a gentle sea breeze. So don't think you can't slope soar in Suffolk!

Cheers
