Escapements and channel-switches

A few of us tried various 'channel switches' all of which seemed at first to be well suited to operating an escapement from a conventional receiver channel. It transpired however that some have a delay on operation which makes them useless for our purpose.

One exception is the Pololu 2802. This is a superb little switch, is complete and costs only a fiver!
Its absolutely ideal being small & light and with instant operation - and the option of a separate escapement battery should you prefer it. I used to make homebrew channel-switches but it cant be done for this price!

If you want to run the escapement from the receiver battery or BEC (as most do) then there are two jumper pads to bridge. Here is Pololu's reference: https://www.pololu.com/docs/0J60/3

The channel-switch is connected inline between the receiver channel output and the escapement coil.
Channel 4 is the 'button-follower' output used to drive an escapement via the channel-switch.
This isnt the Pololu, its one of mine, but the results are identical:
