Chaps!
It's that time of the year for the annual sweepstake...and I have been thinking believe it or not!
Many of us and more than usual will not make Ponte this year but are still interested in see what will be going on there so this year Theme for the sweepstake is: how I participated to Ponte virtually or in real life.
Please post your Ponte experience or "look a like Ponte experience" as between all participant a few prizes will be drawn...any post will make you participate so just a like is good enough to get your name in the sorting hat. One entry per person.
Normally I have given away a few GG actuators of some kind but this year there will be something more...the jackpot will include one of my Tx "nRF24_Encoder board" with a couple of Rx pre-programmed with Phil's nRF24 code and a GG-actuator or a Twin ProPo at the winners discretion.
More info about those items are out there on this forum...who will seek will find.

Happy Ponte.

Tobe - Thanks for your generous sponsorship and support yet again!

For anybody contemplating a "Ponte virtual event", and for those fortunate enough to be able to attend, I can assure you that these are fabulous prizes. Most recently, I've been fortunate enough to have been able to get my hands on Tobe's encoder, some Rx's and a Twin ProPo - all fabulous gear!!

Only one question: If the local weather doesn't cooperate this weekend - the forecast is looking OK (but its decidedly crappy at the moment) in my part of the world, can we have the following weekend as a backup/alternate??

The Sweepstake open period will last a month from when Ponte starts.

ditto - great to see, thanks David for posting!!

A terrific collection of models & retrobates   . Many of the models I can identify (thanks retrobates for putting the model name on the wings and/or fuse :P ), and I can identify a few fellow retrobates fortunate enough to be able to attend in person. Would those who attended be able to update the pictures with a few brief details if known? e.g. Owner, others in the pictures, model name, scale (enlarged, reduced, as per original), power plant & control(s) used, etc.

Would be very much appreciated, ta muchly ;)

Hi Tobe/All

I realised too late that there were several more photos that somehow didn't get into that earlier posting. Apologies for that but here they are.

Cheers, David

Wayne: Here's some info on my models in Twitcher's post...

The red helicopter with the 3-bladed head was flown on the Saturday in the electric only event - its not retro, but it is electric powered. It is a Hirobo Lama (based on Shuttle mechanics) and still available. This one is about 2 years old.

The small blue helicopter is the Mayfly, designed by Peter Valentine (of "Lark" fame) as an experimental electric heli. It dates from the 80s, and he never managed to get it to fly, due to the brushed motor / NiCad batteries then common. I've retro-fitted it with a brushless motor and LiPos, and it now flies! (Details in the heli section of the forum).

The 6th photo in Twitcher's third post shows my "air-force" in the pit area, with the Schluter DS-22 helicopter (electric conversion), Mini-Robot (single-channel), Sub-Mini (half-size Super 60, also single channel), Lark helicopter (electric conversion), Mayfly heli and finally, Veron Robot (giga-ized Grundig 6-channel "reeds").

I must have been flying my "Jackdaw" when that picture was taken...
