Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
A pair of new transmitter replicas is ready to go. Both cases are 3D-printed incl. the Minitron logo on the front.
First is a S/C O.S. Minitron in gold. Digispark with S/C emulation and extra throttle button for sequential throttle. Inactivity buzzer, low votage alert. 35 MHz module.
Second is a blue S/C proportional O.S. Minitron. I added a button for S/C emulation incl. kick-up elevator plus progressive throttle like the GG trannies have. Inavtivity buzzer, 35MHz module. All on a Digispark extended to use P5 with Phil´s fuse programmer.
Both are working great, but not flown yet. Cheers
Frank

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
Very nice!!
Frank, where do you get your meters from as they are most realistic? Am I correct in assuming that the center loaded antenna coils are 3D printed "dummies"?

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
Yes Wayne,
the antenna coils are dummies, the meters are salvaged from old Futaba transmitters.
Frank
P.S. Flight-test done this morning, everything worked out perfectly as expected.

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
During bad weather, I drew some enclosures in OpenSCAD for new replica transmitters and get them printed.
That´s what they look like. The cases are still empty, just the switches are installed and decals attached. So stay tuned for further.

Nice job Frank,
Unusual to see holes in the front, Looks like it may of had a speaker in there for some reason.

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
Thanks guys.
Most probably the casings were used for AM/FM radios or walkie-talkies as well, like Grundig did with the Variophon reeds set.

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
The two Hinode transmitters are finished and test-flown.
The white one is a S/C transmitter offering compound mode with kick-up elevator and quick blip throttle or sequential mode. Also it has low voltage alert and inactivity buzzer.
The heart is a Digispark Attiny85, HF comes from a 35MHz modul, power is a 9V style Lipo.
Test flown in a Schollboy, no problems. The other Hinode replica has the sequential mode or compound mode with kick-up elevator as well, but uses a progressiv throttle on the rocker switch. Inactivity buzzer and low voltage alert.
The heart is a Digispark Attiny85 as well with P5 activated using Phil´s Fuse Programmer.
HF is a 35MHz modul and power is a 9V style Lipo also.
Test flown in the Schoolboy as well, no problems either. Both cases were 3D-printed.
Thanks everybody for the help and inspiration.
Cheers

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
The Babcock transmitter is also ready and testflown.
It uses Mike_K´s S/C encoder on an Arduino pro mini. The Rocker switch offers additional bang-bang rudder.
HF is an Orange 2.4GHz module.
The case is 3D-printed.
Testflown in a Tomboy. No problems. Thanks everybody for the help and inspiration.
Cheers

Re: Single Channel Replica Transmitters
Fabulous work as always Frank - well done
How many similar terrific Tx's must you have?? One for every day of the month, including leap years I bet
Do you start thinking about which one(s) to take out for a flying session the night before??
