Indeed so George - and now I have found who makes 'proper' clear purple film rather than the shocking pink with which I mistakenly covered the Mercury Viper, there could be a clear purple model emanating from the modelling belfry just when you least expect it......

Goes on lovely and doesn’t leave any colour on the wood if you need to peel it back off as the colour is in the film rather than the adhesive. Doesn’t sag in sunlight either. Not cheap though.Colonel Blink wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 07:32 and now I have found who makes 'proper' clear purple film rather than the shocking pink with which I mistakenly covered the Mercury Viper

I’m looking forward to it Wayne. Just need the rain to stop.!
I think around a 6-8mph wind will be sufficient as she weighs nowt.
Ron.
Ps. Anyone else tempted to build one? I am liking these KK old school stuff. Might have a go at something else.

Re: KeilKraft invader build
Ron, I have built the Gypsy with radio installed and is ready for covering. Built it so it can be run electric or rubber power, but most likely stick with electric, with rudder and an all moving tailplane. It's a beautiful looking model even without the covering. I want it to have a traditional look, so will cover with mylar first then tissue on top. I'll start a topic for it later.
I also have the Senator (for which I have a beautiful carved prop) and the Caprice kits in my "kits to build" pile - both are the new re-release versions (as is my Gypsy).

This might sound daft, but I’m fancying a gypsy but as a sloper.
Was yours the Kk kit or the vmc one?

A Gypsy sloper - now that sounds fun - go for it Ron as they are known to have a good glide.
My Gypsy (as well as the Senator and Caprice) is the new release KK kit. A brilliant kit with plenty of quality wood.

I've been subscribed to John Woodfield's YouTube channel for quite some time and he quickly came up with a 2x size Invader and his standard size one. And very nice it is too....Colonel Blink wrote: ↑13 Jun 2019, 10:30Me, but mine would more than likely be a little larger than normal.
