a pootle - 'scuse my colonial naivety having never heard that term before, it does remind me of a joke, however I won't go there........
Cheers,

I don't know what "Class" it is, if any, but it's not a Mirror. It is 12ft long, "pseudo clinker", fibreglass and with quite a heavy steel centreboard. It is relatively stable and not very fast, I bought it to sail with my granddaughter who had been reading "Swallows and Amazons"....... At least that was my excuse. ;)

Well you are certainly starting your grand-daughter off the right way. Hopefully she can eventually get to read WDMTGTS.....
It will of course require proof-reading by her grand-father first! :D

Her grandfather has indeed read WDMTGTS and she is reading it now. It begins and ends here where I live so naturally I think it is the best of Ransome's stories. :P
