Staveley Tone Lock conversion

Post by Shaun »

Just converted this for Andy Boddo. It was Dave Boddo's originally.
Used one of Phil's propo encoders I had lying around. Replaced push button on the tx with a pot for the throttle, the coder switch was retained and wired with fixed resistors for rudder and added an internal pot for the rates.
Used an Orange Rx hack module for the RF.
Range on low power is over twice the stated range in the manual.

Cheers Robert. They were a superb single channel set but arrived at the end of its popularity when affordable propo started appearing so never achieved mass sales.

Staveley gear was very high quality and extremely reliable. Fond memories of tone lock and analog propo back in the day😜
