Source of enclosures

Post by Stew »

These Takachi enclosures look ideal for our purposes if covered with a bit of sticky vinyl!
Range of sizes and a bit more authentic than cast ally?

Proper enclosures are hard to find that's why I cut and bend my own but...Bud Industries has probably the most look alike from the old days and most supplier carries them

If you like to try cut and bend your own the easiest way to get some suitable material is by visiting a roofing/cladding company and check in their scrap box...often you will find even powder coated pieces. Their aluminum is normally 1mm thick and on the soft side making it easy to work with.

Both the Txs below are made from scrap pieces where front has a nice black textured finish with the back side also nicely coated in light grey.

Thanks for the link Tobe. Your cases are really well done. We have a few metal benders at work, and a load of aluminium sheet, but I've never had a great deal of success with them. I will have to have another go.
