FINALLY !
After a long gestation period and the Matador hanging up very prettily in my kitchen for about two years. I finally got it together and ready to fly properly. Previously, I had made some test glides and with the power on and it immediately looped behind my head and smashed itself on the ground, behind me. Thinking the incidence was Completely out I made a wedge this time to put under the leading edge of the tail plane. That certainly helped initially, but after a few test launches with the motor on it was apparent that it didn’t need the wedge at all. Nor did it need a great deal of lead I’d added to the nose.
Cautiously, I added a bit of power and immediately it took to the air. Flying up high and me keeping it into wind. I was using the controls proportionally at this point but on the second flight I was able to use the single channel emulation. At last single Channel flight! Read so much about it never done it. Stuart Mackay took controls and got some lovely flights in and helped me trim it so much better. Whilst he flew I got some great ‘aeromodeller annual’ style photos with the sun through the covering and a moody blue sky behind .

Very nice Johnathan.
My very first successful flight was with a Mercury Matador.
It’s a great feeling ain’t it.
Photos look great.
