Always wanted one of these as a kid; couldn't afford it. I have an, as new - working original set but I'm going to nRf this example a mate gave me today.
And I said I had done all the conversions I wanted to do. Seems I was mistaken.

It seems TenStarRobot have a bit of a sale on at the moment
You only ever need two tools....WD40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move when it should use the WD40 and if it moves and it shouldn't use the tape.

Re: Staveley
nRF24 modules are quire sensitive to RF interference so I would recommend the shielded version or some form of shield to assure proper function.

Re: Staveley
I bought a load of those cheap unshielded ones and it was money wasted, though I did make a couple of receivers using them
For transmitters, these 'Ebyte E01-ML01DP5' are the ones to go for, totally stable, though I wish they wouldn't solder the header pins:

Lovely transmitters guys. Wish I understood the whole nrf thing. I've had a read of the thread but it didn't make much sense (to me). I'll have to gave another look.

The thread is a long story told in real time Stew. Just read the PDF at the top of the first post!

Re: Staveley
Decided what I'm doing. I've found a DIY More board with Phil's propo code on and a few spare FrSky RF DIY boards.
Going to replace the white push button with a pot for throttle, put a couple of resistors on the red toggle switch for rudder and add an additional push button in one of the holes where the red handle currently is for kick up or kick down ele (depending on how it's connected). Internally I'll put a rate pot in.
Should be a nice different slant on a traditional 1+1 set up.
Case has cleaned up nice using automotive, spray foam fabric cleaner.

Re: Staveley
Found an unused DIY More board with Phil's code on. Perfect as it had the s/c button and an Orange Rx Futaba module.
Changed things round a bit to make this hybrid s/c mash up.
Normally Aileron is on the s/c button in the sketch and used to operate the rudder.
Now Rudder is on the Rudder o/p, Throttle on Throttle o/p and Elevator on the Aileron o/p using the s/c compound button ( black button top left of tx) to operate it. Now it's one press for down ele two for up ele. The throttle is operated by a pot that replaced the original throttle micro switch.I hope that makes sense...it does to me.
It's going in my Impala
