I've slowly been going through old RCM&E magazines scanning things of interest and I came upon the SLM magnetic actuator, a bit like an Adams. I remember seeing the adverts for them "back in the day", but I have never actually seen one. Has somebody got one in their collection or know anything more about them?

Re: SLM Magnetic Actuators
SLM were still in business four or five years ago, though I think they had stopped doing model related stuff. I managed to get some plastic cases off them (redundant now, with 3D printing!) and telescopic aerials.
The original proprietor (Ted Luicki? Not sure how its spelt!) had either retired or passed and his sons were running it IIRC.
They are listed as "active" by companies house, and a google search shows them a different address than that advert:
SLM Model Engineers
Plastics supplier in Prestbury
www.slm.uk.com
Open
Closes at 16:30h
Address
Chiltern Road, Prestbury, Cheltenham, GL52 5JQ, England
Phone
+44 1242 525488
The website seems to no longer exist, but they did file statements in September this year. Might be worth a phone call?

Re: SLM Magnetic Actuators
A few years back I phoned SLM asking if they had any servo cases or joysticks left and somebody had beaten me to it, I can't remember who I spoke to at SLM but they said somebody had bought everything R/C they had left on the shelf, I think it may have been Shaun?
The reason for posting though was I thought I had a good collection of most things Galloping Ghost and pulse like Adams, but not SLM and I wondered if anybody else had or if they were a thing SLM advertised but never actually sold.
I've found a few things advertised in old RCM&E that I'd never seen, such as this Fleet Duolog GG set, another one to try and find for the collection.

Hi Mike,
You thought correctly.
There wasn't a pile of stuff; some servo and stick parts including a couple of complete single stick units, aerials, xtal holders, gyro cases and mechanics, servo leads, plugs and sockets, Rx and tx cases plus an assortment of end cheeks but no pulse actuators. Like you I've been after one for years.
Shaun.
