Testors Simpulse1 Stick Knob?

Post by iflylilplanes »

I just acquired a Testors Simpulse1 transmitter, the previous owner lost the original stick knob, he replaced it with a Britfix glue tube cap. The cap did the job, but it's not original.

Anyone have this transmitter with it's original knob, could you please scan the end shape and measure the length for me please? I will find a club mate with a 2D printer to make me one.

Many Thanks,

Dave

Dave, it wasn't a set I knew so I googled for it....... I don't know if it was original but on the one that came up the stick top looked like the kind of knob you might find on an elderly chest of drawers or possibly the choke on an old car....... Maybe a trip to the hardware store or the breakers yard might solve your problem......? :?

Ah.... That's quite different to the one that came up on google! There was another that did look like that but in white and I thought it looked like a homemade "improvisation"! I get the impression they may have used different stick tops depending on what they could get hold of at the time? :P

Hi Paul

That's the same knob as on my Testors and most of them shown at the R/C hall of Fame:

Fantastic, Thanks for the pics, should be easy to work off those. I didn't find many photos of the transmitter on line, and the only closeups were of the innards, will be an easy conversion, already have one of Phil's prewired boards to go in.

Love the trim, it moves the whole stick left and right.

Thanks again,

Dave

Dave ,
the Testors came in two different colors one had a tan case, the other had a black case. The knobs and trim were either white, or black. If your trim lever is white, then the knob was white. They used 8 AA cells, and often will need the output transistor replaced. I use a 2N 2369.

Jay,
This one is the tan case, the trim wheel is black, so I will make a black knob for it.

Only got the TX, so I will convert it to 2.4G with one of Phil's boards, Flysky transmitter module and Tobe's actuator in the aircraft.
Cheers,

Dave
