Ray Ambler's Futaba/LemonRx conversions

Post by stuart mackay »

Ray, who used to be the UK Northern Area Futaba Service Agent has been busy converting some of his old Futabas using the Lemon Rx DIY Modules, he uses the original encoders and also one of Phil's DIYMore with Mike's F3A program on board.

The Gold uses the original Encoder which Ray has expanded to 8 Channels, powered by 18650 Lithium cells and fitted the LemonRx DIY module.

Ray will convert Txs for others, so if you need to contact him, his email is raymond.ambler@gmail.com and he is based in Leyland, Lancs.

By looking at the switches it looks more to me that he has used Mike_K's F3A version of the DIY but I have been wrong before...
At least the Rate/Expo solution looks similar.

Hi Stuart

Any chance of getting Ray to post some pictures of the internal layouts? I always find it more interesting to see how people have installed the gear rather than just pictures of the fronts of the transmitters. As far as the F3A version of the encoder, I always think of it as Phil's encoder that I've modified, but it's good to see it being used. The other tell-tale sign that Ray was using the F3A modified version was that he had altered the Futaba M6 badge on the front to say "Futaba M8" - implying 8-channels (Phil's original has 7-channels).

Cheers

More pics of Ray's 8 channel M series fitted with Mike's F3A DIYMore board :D Showing the various stages of Ray's very tidy re-engineering work of the internals to take the DIYMore and Lemon module.

And here they are ready to fly, powered by 2S 18650 Li-Ion cells.
