Here is the final version of Don Browns Quadruplex system, the CL5, so named as it offered a 5th function in addition to 4 proportional channels. It used 4 tones for proportional and a 5th tone for an aux function/posiionable servo.
Only 8 transistors graced the Tx circuit, a very efficient circuit. Apparently all the tones were sent simultaneously and decoded by discriminators. A true analog proportional system, and it used feedback type servos. Earlier DeeBee Quadruplex systems use open loop analog servos with spring centering like the Bellamatics.
This system had 8K pots on the sticks, so 2 K pots were wired in series as rheostats for trims.
Thanks once again to Phil G for the V2 7 channel encoder, , we set it up with a Lemon DSMP DIY module and are using TAER, Gear, Aux channel order, but are only using the 1st 4 channels.
Bob should turn some heads with this classic at his home field in Orlando. I love the little Lafayette Radio voltmeter.
