Wasserkuppe. A truly big hill. Frank .. we need your advice.

Post by Shaun »

There's a few of us ( from the Yorkshire Slope Lads group )
discussing the possibility of going to Germany next year and flying the legendary slopes at Wasserkuppe.

It would be great to try to attend when there is an event on.

Frank, your help would be greatly appreciated in establishing when would be the best time to visit..

No real plans ATM other than this initial idea.

Anybody welcome to join us if we get something sorted.

Rgds,

Shaun.

I first visited in August 1973, flying my Dandy with home built Classic proportional.

Returned there last August, 51 years later. Was on transit, so no time for modelling this time, but I'll be back!

Totally agree Frank. Its also a great source of inspiration and/or scale detail if you are thinking of a scale sailplane. When I was there in 2002 it was absolutely dead calm - something I suspect doesn't happen routinely :P
