Cracking day on the slope today but a tad chilly. 6 happy coffin dodging diehards turned up to get some refreshing Yorkshire air with a number of walkers taking an interest. Just a shame there's no Cafe Nero outlet there to warm our freezing cockles. Terry Anderson put on a superb display of aerobatics with his old but capable Kwiksilver. Still it's designer, Dave Hardaker, a Baildon local, test flew it there (it was his regular slope) ,so it was coming home.
Also test flew the Smash, took a few goes to get the launch technique right and the throws dialed in. It's extremely aerobatic but great fun. Another first flight was the Angel Wings Dammit S flying wing. What a super, sub 250g model that handles a stiff wind excellently and flies inverted just the same as the right way up plus has a tremendous roll rate. Well impressed.
Time to dig out the winter garb methinks for future sorties up the hill.
I blame my adversion to cold weather on my dodgy thyroid.
Shaun.
Back at Baildon.
