Thanks Stuart, Yes I have something quite similar in mind....... Also a pusher, the idea is to make a replacement hatch and mount it on that, just in front of the wing. I will probably use a bit less power than you are suggesting, and it will be swept back so as not to affect the CG too much...... But it will have to wait a while because I am trying to get the boat back in the water!

Hi Paul

I’m just in the process of building another 2 channel Soarcerer.
What’s the purpose of the little delve just behind the trailing edge on the fuselage? I see it on the plan but not sure if it’s purpose. I’ve seen a few pics of models without the v shape.

Also did you use a locating dowel on the tailplane to stop it moving and altering the elevator trim? Not sure if it’s a good idea.

Hi Ron,

The Vee in the fuz behind the wing saves it from getting chewed if the wing gets knocked askew on landing..... 'Highly recommended!

No, I didn't use a dowel to locate the tailplane, I made the little plate under the L.E. of the tail a little wider and put a "locating block" in front of the Tailplane....... 'seems quite secure.

I didn't do that, I ran the grain across!

Other mods aimed at "survivability" in an unscheduled arrival on a rough slope were doubling the fuselage side with 1/32 ply to behind the wing and a pine noseblock...... It needs weight in the nose anyway!

Here's mine, almost finished. Just the fuselage to cover and finish the radio installation.
It does need around 120 grams of lead in the nose to balance, even though I kept the rear end as light as I could.

Cracking job Ron. The Soarcerer I built as a teen needed a fair bit of weight. The nose is fairly short to be fair. I wouldn't worry about the lead. I've just had to put close to 500g in the nose of my 1/4 scale SG 38.
