Weather was spot on for Baildon today (Tuesday), quite a large turnout maybe 10 or so throughout the day.
Wind was bang on the West slope, quite a bit stronger than we'd expected but we had a brilliant day, 6 or more up on occasion
yet no mid-airs this time which was a nice change!
A weird sky though - half blindingly bright to our left, and half heavy black cloud cover to the right.
Shauns Angelwings 'Dammit' had its maiden, straight as an arrow from the launch, like an RCM&E kit review. Shaun gave me a go
which was fun, the Dammit is immediately responsive and super agile. It weights nothing, in fact its lighter than air and
has to be pegged down between flights  . Not convinced about the Smash yet though, they seem to take a lot of setting up.
No fish & chips today, we thought we'd spend our fish & chips time flying instead.
Shame we've lost an hour through the BST->GMT change but we'll just have to set off earlier! :D

Dave Hardaker "Kwiksilver" put on a great aerobatics show, 8-point rolls!

I was testing the new "Pocket NRF" transmitter, all good:

Very nice.
Any details on that Kwiksilver? I really like the look of that.

I'm hoping to get out for my first slope since the Manila Slope Fest this weekend. Conditions look perfect for our coastal slope.
I'll post some pics if we get out.

Good to see that you all had a great day - would love to visit that site some day for some vintage fun. 8-)

We also had a belting afternoon on Saturday at Pole Hill, wind was double the forecast and at 38mph the strongest that I've flown in. Thank heaven for EPP!

Short video clip of not quite a vintage model, but a classic of it's time, a Canterbury Sailplanes Eraser, flown by my pal Bob, making a very nice precision landing.

Nice to see. I even went past Ivinghoe on Friday! Never heard of 'Scorner' before? Anyone know any other info on the design?

I searched through all the RCM&E from 1963, 64 and 65 to see if there was another mention of the "Scorner" glider, but could not find anything. I guess it was a one-off and the plan never got published?

Friday was not the best day to go past Ivinghoe Beacon, it was misty, with solid low cloud and near-zero windspeed. I know because I was up there with my dog, not a day to take a glider!

Mike, you weren't by chance wearing dark glasses trying to give "spectators" the impression that you were out 'n about with your seeing eye dog?? :P :o
