I still like Pixie Dust regardless of connotations :D
Ha ha, no probs - I did think that 'Irving Pixy' might be an option too :-)

Perhaps we should have a referendum on the name - as long as it doesn't involve leaving the EU in the process

Hi Gary, you can absolutely do whatever you wish, it's just that if you enter it into 'Phil's National Grand Pixie Competition', you'll be disqualified for having insufficient thickness

Original is 13% thick which really isn't oversized for a wee glider - yours will be around 10%.
BTW, that 3/8 sq LE needs to be a bit bigger to fit the shape of your rib - and you'll need a carbon launch peg in the wingtip to match the spruce in the centre section

I'm joking of course

On the name, here's what Roget's Thesaurus says about a Pixie ...

leprechaun
bogie
brownie
elf
fay
gnome
goblin
gremlin
hob
imp
puck
spirit
sprite
nisse

How about the 'Mode Zero Goblin' '?

There are jokes to be made in there too
That kind of gets us away from any possible copyright issues (there are also a few minor mods to the design too).

I can feel an iGull MZ™ range appearing:

Kiddie Kraft Superior 60
Kiddie Kraft Juvenile 60
Verone Bishop (nee cardinal/Deacon)
Verone antelope (nee Impala)
StarPuls. Hold on, we're allowed to call it Pulstar

And so the GG brigade don't feel left out:
BD Phantom Rider

Just a thought...

Heres my latest attempt at the aerofoil, its as close as I can get it:

pixie_foil.jpg

It does smack of Clarke's shoes rather than Clark-Y

Just a couple of suggestions Neil,
The nose does pull in a bit, its just aesthetics thats all.
The dihedral - no braces but the inner ribs of the tip sections and the outer ribs of the centre section are cut from 1/4" and angle-sanded to about 3/32 at the spar - or they cut the ribs from 1" TE stock. The 3 sections are then just butt-jointed with glue - I'm sure that as an ARTF it was supplied as 3 panels.
The panel side of each 'dihedral rib' is set at 90 degrees ie parallel to all the others, only the glued face is angled. I spose had I realised that I could have split a panel to get the section!!!
Will the kit have slotted LE & TE Neil? that would make it a much easier & quicker build.
The plan looks great. "Dixie"? "Quicksie"? "Riskie"? (copyright!) "Trixie"?
Its very close to a wrap I think!
Cheers
Phil

PS - Just spotted the 'Phil Tips' :D :D :D

PPS I trim mine by moving the battery around, so the CG varies from around the spar to about an inch behind it. If its windy, I move it forward, if its light I move it back. Moving it an inch or so in total covers all bases. Its a 4xAAA NiMh and there is a small lead weight right at the nose, maybe 1/2 oz or so (guessing)

PPPS not sure if I'm alone on this but I'd rather pay the postage than have jointed sides (pretty please? :D

Ha ha, I think you're right there Phil, bit oddball

I've just finished checking it against what I had drawn and it's nearly dead nuts on - good enough anyway.

I've attached a v1.0 plan, if folks could download it and see if there are any misteaks and errirs needing correcting - public comments are fine, I have a tough skin

Not sure if dihedral braces are a requirement, didn't see them in any pix - maybe you could advise Phil.

Once all OK, I can start burning some balsa if that's what folks want.

Cheers
