This morning early before setting off for work in Cambridge today I checked my steamed wing to see if it had set correctly overnight. To my joy it’s perfect and sits neatly on my washout template.

Curiously the steaming process has restored the original blonde colour of the woodwork. - Normally ( I thought) Heat would bring out the tannins in the wood and colour it darker. This evening will see me steam the other half of the wing and leave overnight.

The last photo looks better than reality . Having a job to get the red paint to cover evenly . So I have masked off my hand painted shapes and about to spray over .
Covering the wing now it’s all lovely and true now

Wow Jonathon, spray painting in the kitchen :o, what will you think of next?

That is a lovely looking OS set in the background - so, radio storage in the kitchen too? Truly a his & hers kitchen :P ;)
Cheers,

Wayne

Hello Wayne - You think I have a lady friend live here ? Ha ha I think I’d get shot - the kitchen table is permanently a building zone of late and if not model aeroplanes it’s bits of vintage cars . This is my batchelor pad and it’s great to have that freedom . However the Black Magic was largely constructed in my girlfriend’s attic - rather like the Colditz Cock

It’s getting there now but I’m whacked out now

The masking off of the Scollops is proving pretty difficult- mainly because I have discovered the plan is inaccurate and the ribs are placed unevenly- I’m going to fight my OCD this is giving me and carry on regardless . I think that will look better than trying to match each scollop to the exact rib placement as built
