Single Channel Tomboy. Finally!!

After too many failed attempts I've finally got my Tomboy sorted on the single channel set.
I had a dozen or so flights at the annual slope festival in the calm mornings before the wind came up & we hit the slope.
It wasn't all smooth sailing with a trim adjustment resulting in a flight I can only describe as round the pole flat out style but all other flights went extremely well. One flight went so well I specked it out in a thermal & thought I was going to lose it but managed to get it down after a 30+ minute flight.

I have a couple of videos which I'll upload tonight & I know a couple of others captured some flights as well.
It generated a lot of interest. All positive.
I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with this setup now. So much fun.
The first video is below with a 2nd to come shortly.

Looks a stable flyer now, great build, should finish my Tomboy, need to decide weather to go EP or IC (got both).

Where is that field? I'd love to have a fly there.

This was at base camp of the Manilla Slope Fest, just north of Tamworth in NSW Australia.

Phil,
I just want to rethank you again for the single channel encoders.
I get more fun out of flying my Tomboy on the button that pretty much anything else I own.

I'm now at the point where I can loop & roll on the button & have handed over control to a few club mates who are surprised at just how easy it is to fly with a little instruction.
The tomboy has almost flown away twice in thermals. I'm now seriously considering a 72" Tomboy. S/C of course.

Regards.

Al

Thats brilliant Al, I love my Tomboy too - 48" 'Senior' and like yours its my most-flown S/C model.
Lately I've been favouring slope-soaring and pondering the 'ideal' S/C soarer but on a calm, sunny
Sunday afternoon you cant beat the relaxation of a Tomboy and a button :D

Sunland branded Chinafilm in a greeny blue with orange trim.
Looks better than it flies. It's flown a few times but always manage to break the motor mount before I get it trimmed how I want it.

RIP Tomboy, wherever you may be.
I underestimated the wind speed this morning & ended up with a fly away. I tried S turns to get it back up wind but to no avail & it ended up somewhere in 500 square kilometers of bush & too far away to even consider going to find it.
It was a great flyer. I may need to build another.
