Wow amazing design and craftsmanship Tobe! Colors remind me of the Min-X GG radios from many years ago.

Just a quick note from my experience with the nRF2401 modules.
All modules out there differ from each others and very few are properly shielded so they might be a source for RF interference depending in how they are used/positioned.
I'm not the right person to explain why this occurs...I'm just a multidisciplinary Naval Architect but I have come out with a few solutions that I would recommend to try if you encounter issues.
The higher power we are using the bigger is the risk for issues so just going from RF24_PA to HIGH and not MAX might help.

The more scientific solution would be to add Low Impedance Capacitor 220 uF on the power pins of the module and shield the module...this is not all the truth as the addition of an inductor of 33uH would be ideal on the power source...
The following pictures will show the poor shielding of this module and how I added shield with copper tape and added the capacitor.
...here you can see how the ground plane is interrupted with tracks

I have added here the Capacitor

Last but not least, I use twisted wire in all my installs!
