Pete filmed his son, Mark, test flying the gyro in Pete's Voyager-E. Pete said it was okay to share the video.

Mark said that rate mode works okay and doesn't need altering, but that heading hold mode is still wrong and needs more work. All the video is with the gyro in rate mode, as Mark (expert aerobatic flyer and British team member) didn't want to risk flying with the dodgy HH mode! :o Stay tuned for a possible version 3...

Made another gyro today and will use just the rate mode so cut down on the cabling.
Programmed the board first and then built up from there.
Should be able to try it sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Still have to set up the rest of the machine.

Tried both the "Matin" version Attiny85 on rate mode and swapped it out for a HK401b I found in a corner box somewhere.
The latter has heading hold ability and both gyros seem to behave ok.
Did not use heading hold with the Attiny unit though after reading Pete's replies.

Call me inexperienced or whatever but for some reason I don't see a lot of difference between heading and rate mode on the HK401 at least.
Maybe it's just that the HK450 chopper is a twitchy little piece of gear to begin with. :D
