It seemed to me that there weren't enough people interested. And different people want different things. Maybe it's best to stick with separate transmitter modules: that way, people who want to keep things simple can use a microcontroller like an ATmega, and people who want lots of channels or features can use a more capable 32-bit microcontroller.
