Hi
My name is Po Chee Ping and I am from Singapore, I am new here but not new to aeromodelling. I flown the usual, rubber powered plane, control line etc.
During my very much younger days (Yes, I am a senior age 68), I have seen British serviceman operating and flying single channel planes at our local RAF airbase. Due to family financial woes, I can only watch. Ever since then I always wanted to try!
I hope to explore and learn this form of flying from this forum. Guidance and advice from experience modelers in this forum will be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Hello From Singapore
Welcome Edward, you will find this forum quieter than RCM&E but more in tune with your interest. The 'Modules, receivers, actuators, batteries & components' sub-forum is where you will find the info you are looking for.
You only ever need two tools....WD40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move when it should use the WD40 and if it moves and it shouldn't use the tape.
If it doesn't move when it should use the WD40 and if it moves and it shouldn't use the tape.

Hi Edward and welcome to 'Mode-Zero'
The Lemon RF modules seem to be the most popular at the moment, Frsky are now very expensive
We have a member here Stu who is the Lemon importer for the EU, Stu posted a typical S/C conversion recently;
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1769&p=14792
Lemon also do a range of receivers - the simplest rx suffices for our needs, we dont need stabilizers or anything fancy.
Perhaps Stu will know of a more local supplier in or near Singapore, or maybe go to Lemon directly: https://lemon-rx.com/
There are many, many examples of Single-Channel conversions here from tiny OS Pixies to floor-standing ED transmitters
The main thing is to enjoy the project and have fun, we are always here to help
Cheers
Phil

Hi Edward, welcome to the forum.
While most of the membership & group get-to-gethers are Euro-centric, there are also plenty of us "loners" scattered around the globe. E.g Living in Australia, we are constrained by big distances.
Regardless of where you live, you are never without support, assistance & companionship here for all things retro. Check out the archives, projects and previous posts, we all had to start somewhere
If you can't find the answer, sing out. Again, welcome.

Thank you for welcoming me to this forum.
I do believe I am one of the loner! As a very small city state, there are only a handful of R/C modelers in Singapore and I am 1 of the only 2 modelers in SIngapore that ever witness single channel flying. I hope that will change in the coming future.
At the moment, I am speed reading all the relevant topics in this forum and I will certainly shout out for advise here
Happy Flying and Happy Father Day too
