Peter Holland's Bi-Play F/F design from the mid 50's popped up in a recent email from OZ.

Has anybody built or flown one of these? It looks cute, a little different, and a worthy candidate for S/C conversion or just radio guided F/F with the grandkids :D

Either original size or 1/2 - 3/4 size should perform equally well.

I am guessing that is the one that Alan from Oz built recently, an immaculate job as are all his models. I built one for F/F when it was first published, powered with a Frog 150. An excellent flier and a very handsome model. It would make a great lightweight R/C job, either rudder/throttle or RET with either a 1.5 diesel or electric.

The one in the picture appears to have a 4st fitted.

Yep, plus rudder & elevator - appears to have been built as a sedate sport model. My personal preference is still rudder & motor - either 1+1 or on the button.

Like other F/F models of the period, it has plenty of decalage & rearward CG. Hence my original post to ascertain what latitude I may have to 'tweak' the design.
