137miles, 55 furlongs....155 locks.... 13 days, 5 1/2 hours travelling to Ponty!

hi Gary, 155 locks - wow, what is the average time for a lock transfer?

...not as long as you'd think, less than ten minutes mostly. We did a flight of 24 locks in a row last year in 3 1/2 hours. When it's busy, you spend more time in the queue waiting your turn.

I'm confused :?....... I thought Ponte was AUG 1st but Gary's post suggests it is the 18th......????

Being serious I would guess 13 days doesn't include stop overs. 👍

That's our actual travelling time Paul, if were in a car we could set off the morning of August 1st. but travelling by narrowboat takes somewhat more time and planning!
