Does anyone have a few spare DIY-More boards please?

Post by Phil_G »

The 2018 DIY-More pcb seems to have disappeared completely from Ebay, Aliexpress and Amazon,
and still I have a few outstanding requests for animatronics controllers. If anyone has a few spares
I'll happily repay the full cost :D Ta v much - Phil

Its this board I'm looking for, the 5v 16Mhz version:

Okay a batch of ten of these boards arrived, and unfortunately they're soldered up with all the headers in place,
so fitting a dipswitch is going to be problematic. My fault I should have read the description!

Hi Phil.

I may have one or two in a drawer. I'll have a look later and let you know.

Phil, if you are using them for encoders you can fit "Spektrum Bind Plugs" in the place of the DIP switch and just cut off the D1 header pin so it isn't accidentally used. It doesn't take long to make a few bind plugs and 7 of them wouldn't be too different to the cost of an 8-way DIP switch. I sold 10 encoders like that in the early days and nobody complained.

You can unsolder header pins, but it's a pain in the proverbial, you need to remove the plastic part of the header, and then you can tackle each pin individually with de-solder braid or pump, but with 24 pins per board, it will take you ages to do 10 boards.

Alternatively, put them on eBay for £9.99 each and they will sell quite quickly as some people prefer to buy from a UK seller and then order them without pins?

Last time I bought any it was from here, they came with pins not soldered in. Just make sure you order 5V, not 3V3, though encoders work ok at 8MHz if the timing is adjusted
