Shaun.
Agree. I looked carefully at your installation diagram where the 360 degree servo rotary movement is transferred to a plus/minus shaft. I didn't expect to change rotary direction of the SlimJim but the first movement of the drive pin away from centreline would be in the opposite sense. If there is a flat on the SJ shaft that denies the change there, the opposite crank can be introduced at the rudder end of the drive rod.

Sorry chaps, late to the party again... mine has two twisted cables of 3 wires each, on one cable, the red is turned back and hidden away,
this tallies with the instructions which say that red is only for use if the optional 2nd actuator is also a Slim Jim.

Reading the instructions reminded me that the Slim Jim was a renegade "one for left, two for right" actuator - probably why we never saw one back in the day!

I have a vague recollection that they could be wired in sequential mode too, or that there was a published mod for sequential.

Hi Phil, Thank you for the information, it answers my last question about 6 wire Slim Jims. I used these actuators with great success in my boats 50+ years ago, if I remember we configured a linkage to give right with one push when it was a problem. Thank you and the forum for all your help, Malc.

Reversed (or rather, 'corrected') one-for-right, two-for-left:

Found a nice MacGregor relay Minimac rx. Works across all UK model 27mHz frequencies as it's super regenerative but I imagine it would be fine in a boat unless anybody else at the pond was using 27mHz.

I know I have more, just not sure where they are ATM.

Rgds,

Shaun.
