I was chatting with Shaun this afternoon and he heard of the demise of the popular vintage R/C website norcim-rc.club (Micron spelt backwards - the UK radio kit manufacturer from the 70s and 80s). It appears the site owner was getting old and decided to pull the plug without warning. This is a real shame as I'm certain one of us would have taken the site over to preserve the content.
I have downloaded most of the pages via archive.org (Wayback machine), but some images are missing. Before I try to contact the original owners to see if they have a copy of the site, did anybody make a complete copy of the site when it was still up-and-running? Failing that does anybody have Terry Tippett or David Caudrey contact details, please? I think Phil_G knew Terry from back in the early days, do you still know if he's still with us?

...dated feb 8th Rene... I think this is after that. Can't help with any of the other info wanted.
You only ever need two tools....WD40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move when it should use the WD40 and if it moves and it shouldn't use the tape.

Spoke to Terry, offered hosting but he said a definite no, he actively wants to close it.
Shame but its Terrys decision - lets hope Archive.org took a good look at it !
Cheers

Re: norcim-rc.club R/C website is no more
Had a further email from Terry today, he sent a link to a site he's assembled from screen dumps of the old Norcim site.
This is purely picture-based, a series of jpg images.
I've asked how these screen dumps were taken (from what source?) with a view to recovering the html and the original graphic files,
but apparently this is all there is now.
Rather than pursue what could be a touchy subject I think we should be grateful to Terry for this, its much, much better than nothing!

Cheers

Great work Phil,
I have managed to retrieve all the pages, the quality is good.
Like you said; definitely better than nothing!
Regards,
René
