Oh dear ..
Three things I've been doing wrong and need to fix:-

1) redo many thousands of joints... I've never used alcohol
2) wipe my greasy fingers over every tinned joint.
3) use sodder not solder in future.

Soddering is a hitherto secret jewelers' technique if the latest BBC 'kick one competitor out each week' prog hosted by Catherine Ryan is to be believed. Soddery sounds a bit indelicate to me !
Several Nations, separated by a common language ?

There is some Transatlantic hope - Bill Gates' spellchecker is trying to correct that linguistic aberration to "soldering"

I wish I could say the same, beer followed by some bubbly and top it off with a single malt whiskey is my recommendation!
