Re: Consul - I would love another - but not at that price! Looking at what other old Graupner kits are selling for, I find it amazing that no-one has thought to re-start production of them. Many of these were excellent flyers, and much missed by those on the know!

Yes, it´s a shame, that all those beautiful model-kits end up in a shelf, instead of being build and flown. Most of them are real great flyers. I am lucky to have most of them in flyable condition mostly for decades.
I got my Consul for a very low price (about 10 quid) a long time ago from a guy, who didn´t even know, what it was.
But never give up hope. About three years ago, I got another Consul for one of my clubmates, who was looking after one for years, for €30,00 on a swap meet in very good condition. I could see a grown man cry for happiness.

OS Pixie batteries!!!
The EBL battery and charger combinations are back in stock, these are absolutely perfect for the Pixie conversions, RDT's, and any small transmitter projects. These are 2S 8.4v lithiums in a convenient PP3 format and optionally come with a charger. It doesnt balance charge, balancing is done internally inside the battery, so there are just the two standard PP3 terminals. I first used them in my OS Pixie thread, and also in the micro 2ch "one evening" project. I've tested them and they deliver the full 600mAh claimed, they're great little batteries for small domestic stuff as well as for trannies. I've tested these batteries and they perform right up to spec:

I always go for the bottom option, two batteries and a UK charger for £13
Cheers

Re: OS Pixie batteries!!!
Phil, you said that these batteries are ideal for "any small transmitter projects" . I do have several "small transmitters" and the fact that you don't have to balance charge them means that you can plumb them in and charge them through a socket and don't have to open the case for charging. So I sent off for some and they are indeed ideal for the s/c conversions....... Do you think they are man enough for the Arduino 7+s/c propo conversions?Phil_G wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 13:16 The EBL battery and charger combinations are back in stock, these are absolutely perfect for the Pixie conversions, RDT's, and any small transmitter projects. Re: Ebay bargains & tip-offs
Definitely Paul, I use them in most of my conversions. Its just a 700mAH 2S lipo.
The arduino encoders dont use any more than the S/C ones. Most of the current in a tranny
is the RF module, then the LEDs - the processor uses very little
I would suggest a good quality PP3 connector though, not the chinese ones that you
can pull the wires off
